Athlete Blog: BJ Raji

Whats going on Scouting The Sports? It’s me again, BJ Raji. I’m doing well. Hope all is well with you guys.

I’m here in Green Bay right now in the last week of OTA’s (Organized Team Activities). They are basically full practices without pads. Everything is going well though. I am running with the first team defense. I have played both Nose tackle and Defensive end, mostly Defensive end though. It’s really a lot of fun but also a lot of work too. Our team is looking very good on defense.

I have the team mini-camp at the beginning of next week and then I make my way down to the rookie symposium in Florida. Green Bay is a city where the fans really love there football and they have really received me with open arms which I am extremely grateful for. I have been able to get better at my technique in practice which is really going to help me during the Fall.

Thanks again for taking the time out to visit scoutingthesports.com and God Bless!!

P.S. Keep an eye out for my little brother this upcoming basketball season. He is the SEQUEL to the “Raji boys” and he will be causing havoc-just like his big brother. For those of you who don’t know him yet, he goes by the name Corey Raji rocking the #11… Go Eagles!

Hello everyone its been a while since I have blogged on scouting the sports but happy I’m back with ya’ll. Yea its a few days before the draft and I’m real excited-excited to reach a goal of mine and honestly excited to have a place/ team i can call home. Last few weeks have been stressful for me, with all the negative attention and accusations but you know ya boy was as clean as a whistle and now that the TRUTH is out I can move forward to get ready for what lies ahead for me. The pre-draft process has been real strenuous I have visited around 8 different teams and all while still trying to stay in football shape between visits. I can not even lie it has been an interesting journey and I can truly say that nothing in life comes easy, but I am also an example of someone who had a dream and wouldn’t let it die and I am thankful to God for giving such a great opportunity and I will do everything in my power to take complete advantage of it. It was a pleasure writing this blog for Scouting The Sports and for all my fans. God bless you guys and tune in to the draft to see your favorite players and myself included.

The Pre-Draft process is going well for me so far. I’m in Orange County, California training at velocity performance in Irvine, California. I had participated in the Senior Bowl last month and I had a good week, so I feel good going into the NFL Scouting Combine next weekend. I know it is going be another tall task but I feel I am prepared for it. The training that I am doing has been real beneficial to me because it is personalized to what my physical needs are at this time. I am getting stronger while maintaining my agility and increasing my conditioning levels. I am confident in knowing that all my hard work will eventually pay off and I’m sure that this will be evident at the NFL Scouting Combine.

With the free time that I have off from workouts, I have been trying to explore what California has to offer me. I have been to a few malls and it is interesting to see how different people out in California dress as compared to people back East. I love to shop and buy nice things for myself. I have bought a few pair of shoes and a few nice shirts so far. With all the support I’ve been getting from my fans, I would love to hear from my fans what clothing brands that you guys think I should look into.

Till next time, I’m B.J. Raji leaving you with a quote from one of the greatest coaches of all-time, Pat Riley.

“Greatness is a vision before it’s a reality.”
